This book contains the papers presented at the AHI Legislative Conference held in Washington, DC on January 28, 1989. 101 pages.

This book is of historic importance because it expresses the views of the former U.S. Ambassador to Cyprus, Taylor G. Belcher, in support of the "rule of law" conditions on aid to Turkey; and it carries the first public comments in print of the views of former Ambassador Thomas D. Boyatt, the State Department Cyprus Desk officer in 1974, who opposed Secretary of State Henry Kissinger's policies regarding Cyprus and President Makarios.

Charles W. McCaskill, former State Department Cyprus Desk Officer and Political Attache in Greece spoke on "Cyprus: Twenty-Five years After;" DeVallon Bolles, Ph.D., strategic analyst, presented a critical analysis of Turkey's alleged strategic value to the U.S., Dr. Dwight J. Simpson, Professor of International Relations, San Francisco State University, spoke on "Cyprus--The Unfinished Business;" Hon. Eugene T. Rossides' article on "Constitutional Democracy and U.S. Foreign Policy Interests" and Dr. Dean C. Lomis, past AHIPAC Chairman, on "Why the United States and Greek Americans Must be Concerned for the Future of Cyprus."
